Architectural Lighting Designers
Gilmore Lighting Design is growing and has immediate openings for experienced architectural lighting designers. Join our open and collaborative studio in Bethesda, MD. Grow your technical skills and creative awareness working on diverse projects ranging from public sector parks and gardens to corporate interiors, to base building architecture.
Our lighting designers are involved with all project phases, from photometric studies and concept development through construction documentation and administration. As integral members of our design team, lighting designers perform these and other tasks:
Perform site surveys and research
Create concepts, models and design presentations
Conduct photometric analysis and fixture evaluations
Assist in preparation of all design documents
Communicate with vendors and clients
A degree in architecture, lighting design or equivalent field is required, as well as proficiency in standard architectural design software including AutoCAD, AGI32, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office. Fluency in Revit or ElumTools is a plus. Of equal importance is a passion for light, curiosity, and a desire to grow.

We are seeking hard-working, eager, and creative team members to join our growing team in support of the DesignLights Consortium® (DLC) Qualified Products List (QPL) as entry-level Project Associate.
As primary support contractor on the DLC QPL, D+R International is growing its team of analysts. Primary job responsibilities will include developing a fundamental understanding of LED lighting and DLC program rules and policies, acting as a liaison between the program and manufacturers of LED lighting products seeking qualification, and contributing to the other support activities by conducting analysis and executing contract tasks.
A successful candidate:
· Has excellent critical thinking skills
· Is an accomplished learner, curious about technical details and how things work
· Can provide detailed-oriented work results in a fast-paced environment
· Is able to easily manage a large number of ongoing and constantly changing tasks
· Is an excellent written and oral communicator
· Has an interest in energy and environmental issues and/or energy efficiency
Previous experience or understanding of lighting, LED lighting, or energy efficiency incentive programs is not required, but would be considered a plus. Additionally, sophisticated computer skills (including advanced use of Excel and experience with HTML programming) and experience or course work in a science or engineering laboratory would be a plus. This entry level professional position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 0-2 years experience in a professional environment. This position is located in Silver Spring, MD.
The DLC ® is a non-profit organization dedicated to accelerating the widespread adoption of high-performing commercial lighting solutions. The QPL seeks to identify LED lighting products intended for outdoor environments and commercial and industrial buildings that meet minimum performance criteria.
