Welcome to the District of Columbia IESNA Section Website

The District of Columbia Section was initially chartered as the Washington and Baltimore Chapter in 1927.  We currently encompass Northern Virginia (from Harrisonburg to Fredericksburg), Maryland (Columbia to Frederick), and the District of Columbia.

The District of Columbia IESNA Section

The District of Columbia Section includes architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects, lighting designers, electrical contractors, lighting manufacturers, representatives and those who are just curious about lighting. Members represent the government agencies, commercial, institutional, retirees, and the interested public.

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

+ Angelica visits T.C. Williams!

Angelica Santana volunteered for AIA’s LAIDEA (Latin American Interior Designers, Engineers & Architects) event, where she spoke to 14-16 year old high school students about her path to becoming a Lighting Designer. Speaking in Spanish, she conversed with students of how she started finding interest in lighting during high school and college and how it got her to where she is now. Additionally, she explained what lighting design is and how it differs from architecture and interior design. This was held at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, VA.

As part of IESDC, we enjoy reaching out to those outside of our industry and sharing our passion!
